If I have to tell what is most unique about this place I have to tell: nothing.
THe beauty of Ireland is not made by monuments or anything particular, but by the sense of peacefulness you feel here. Sometimes you can feel time has stopped at centuries ago. Sometimes you can also sense silence and the feeling the modern troubles cannot trouble this place so much. It seems sometimes eternal. This country is unique.
Wicklow makes no difference in all this scenery.
The village is small and simple, there is only an ancient, and completely ruined castle, called Black Castle. Almost nothing remains of it.
And there are cliffs, and the raging sea, and the eternal wind, and the silence, and peace..

I couldn't have described Wicklow better. I agree with you completely. I was walking in the cliff of that photo when we were in Wicklow seven years ago. Lovely memories!
A very beautiful, peaceful place. I like it.
Just can't say anything.
A lovely serene part of the world
i've been to wicklow loads of times and have not seen what you have seen - it goes to show you learn something new all the time! :-)
name's familiar, scenery amazing - like on old chocolate boxes ;-)))
a lovely page, Nicola ! It is a part of Ireland I would need to explore more intensively.
Yes, you are right Ireland and Wicklow are very peaceful! It's so nice to be there.
That scenery really looks wonderful and so do the monuments. Nice introduction, Nicola!
I can understand how a man from Rome would find beauty in a land WITHOUT monuments...! Your Irish pics are fantastic, I need to reconsider this place...
