I work for a telecommunication company in Italy, and I've been involved in the creation of the whole telecommunication-multimedia service infrastructure for the G8 Summit.
It has been a supreme effort for me and my companions, we worked on it since december 2000 and we finally landed in Genoa on July 5th 2001, when the Red Zone was being built.
We saw everything happened inside.
I want to tell here what the G8 has been really for people working in it.
By far the greatest effort in my life (I lost 5 KG in 20 days) it has been the greatest satisfaction also!
We built a full telecommunication infrastructure connecting the whole town, an complete telephone network including two vessels (see below), a multimedia high-speed IP network with fast internet connection, a multimedia portal and much, much more.
The most interesting part is to see also how architects work, and how a ruin (see later) can become a fantastic meeting place.
Let's start!
