Goztepe sen baskasin.. kalbimin ilk askisin Izmir is always in my heart and will always stay in its top spot no matter what. I was born and raised in Goztepe, which is my favorite part of Izmir. (of course I am biased) I learned everything that made me what I am today in this neigborhood. I fell in love the first time in here and learned what it is to be passionate in life. Goztepe has a professional sports club, and its teams are competing in football, basketball, volleyball, sailing, etc. Of course football (soccer) being the most popular branch by far. I grew up going to Goztepe games 'till the day I left Izmir. Supported my team with the biggest passion out there. I feel so unbelievably lucky and blessed that I got to spent all those wonderful years with my friends and family in Goztepe - Izmir. If I had the choice to pick from, I wouldn't want to be raised in any other way and/or experience anything else than what I did with Goztepe & izmir. I would not trade one day of my life to anything offered. Just the thought of Goztepe is enough to put a great smile in my face every morning I wake up. The fact that it is there and I am still a part of it, is a feeling that makes me live a happier and joyful life. I guess words are not enough to express my passion about Goztepe and Izmir.. |
| | Karsiyaka (the other side) The 'other' part of Izmir is called Karsiyaka. In the last 20 years it has gotton so much developed. Really nice restaurants and bars opened up. People living in Karsiyaka used to go to Alsancak for night out. Now its almost the other way around. |

| Pros: | "Right size of a big city, greatest people, location and weather" | | Cons: | "Can't think of anything major. (Maybe more $$ coming in for things like better sports complexes?) Ohh, and the random earthquakes might bug you every now and then." | | In A Nutshell: | "If I had the choice to do it all over again, I 'd do it in Izmir" |
