With just under 650,000 inhabitants and another 300,000 commuters Frankfurt is Germany´s financial capital. Along with Heathrow (London) and Charles de Gaulle (Paris), Frankfurt Airport with about 40 million passengers and 1,5 million tons of air cargo per year is one of the most important centres of air traffic. Frankfurt´s Central Railway Station is the busiest in the whole of Europe. But Frankfurt also means picturesque houses like in Alt-Sachsenhausen or of the beautifully restored Römerberg in the city centre. |
