The sculpture called "The opening of the Iron Curtain" was constructed by the sculptor Wolfgang Dreysse.
Bügerhus
This half-timbered house was constructed in 1560 by the councilman Hollenstedt. It has the longest inscription of all buildings in Hameln. I do not know Latn so i cannot say what is written there.

Rattenkrug
The building was erected in 1568 by Cord Tönnis, who also built the Leisthaus. Today it houses a restaurant.
Leisthaus
This building was erected for the Gerd Leist. In the ground floor Leist had his living room and in the upper floor his office. Today it houses the museum of town's history.
Stiftsherrenhaus
The former major of Hameln, Friedrich Pöppendiek, built this building. Its facade shows motifs of the Bible.
Church of St. Nicolai
The Market Church of St. Nicolai is situated in the centre of the old town. Inside you find the Beckerath-Goll organ, one of the best in Lower Saxony. The church was almost completely destroyed in World War Two. The dark-yellow sandstones are resisted the air raid, the light yellow stoes are cloned.
Lückingsches Haus
During the Thirty-Years-War the merchant Henning Wichmann built this half-timbered house in the style of Renaissance.

Grüner Reiter
In 1713 this building was constructed as church for soldiers. Because of it's green copper roof and a horseman figure at its top is it called Grüner Reiter (green horseman). Since 1842 it has no more been used as church. Today it houses the Sparkasse.
Pulverturm & Haspelmathturm
Not much is left from the old city fortification. Only two towers: powder tower (Pulverturm) and Haspelmath tower (Haspelmathturm) at the northern end of the old town centre.
Dempterhaus
The Dempterhaus was erected in the years of 1607/08. It is located in front of the Market Church of St. Nicholai and was also built in Weser-Renaissance style.
