Heilbronn, was built on the site of a Roman settlement on the Neckar River. The city has about 120,000 inhabitants and is situated in a huge vineyards region. Heilbronn was one of the first in Southwestern Germany to have a harbour, giving its inhabitants certain privileges in terms of levying all goods passing through the city. The symbols of the city's wealth is the St. Kilian Church, the town's landmark.

Hi Christian, another very nice page of yours. Your first tip, the Deutschhof, is where I'm going next Friday to do a teachers' workshop.

I enjoyed the Neckar River in Tubingen - it looks very scenic in Heilbronn, too. It seems there is a patron saint for almost everything - I wonder if there's one for travelers??

A cruise on the Neckar would be very nice I think. Lovely presentation of this city, thanks for sharing.
