Do you know where the German Weihnachtsmann (Santa Claus) comes from? He lives in Himmelpfort (Heaven's Gate), a small town in the Uckermark (county of Brandenburg). Every year the Weihnachtsmann has to respond ten thousands of letters from kids.

The town itself was founded when Monchs build their monastery next to the Havel River in 1299. Today people spend their holidays on one of the numerous lakes around the town.

St. Claus has many hometowns, I see. Thnks for e-mail, I just e-mailed him my wish to travel to Germany :-)))

Hmm, es weihnachtet sehr... - DAS wäre die richtige Partnerstadt für Christkindl bei Steyr...& es müssen NICHT immer lustige namen mit F...sein !! ;-))
