Karlsruhe, situated on the bank of the Rhine between the Black Forest and Alsace, is a city rich in culture with numerous museums. Karlsruhe was founded in 1715 by the Margrave Karl Wilhelm who also built the Baroque Castle which houses today the "Badisches Landesmuseum" (Baden State Museum). Heavy destroyed in World War Two and rebuilt in very modern style Karlsruhe has around 270.000 inhabitants today. |
