The Scandinavian country of Sweden is also called "the land of the midnight sun". It is the fourth largest European country. Like in all regions north of the Polar Circle the sun does not set down in the summer months.
Swedens geography is varied. To the north are mountains and many lakes. To the south and east are lowlands and south of them are areas of forest. I felt in love with Sweden's beautiful landscape. Even if it rained a lot I had a lot of fun exploring the country. Here you still can find almost unspoilt natur and elks are claimed to live here - but I haven't seen any (just a rumor?) :-)
During my first stay in 2000 I visited the areas primarily south of the Great Lakes, during my second visit in 2003 I drove from the very north along the coast to Malmö.

Great briefing on Sweden! Enjoyed reading very much. Happy new year from the Aleutian Islands (cradle of the storms).
Happy New Year! :) I just have to say that yes, there ARE old buildings in Västervik. Just not medieval. Lots of old wooden 18th century townhouses!
Excellent overview of the beauty of Sweden! Giant mushrooms - indeed!
Thankyou for the time to make the page. It will make my stay much more fun

Wow, what a page! Absolutely great overview! Thanks for putting so much work into this page!
Hey there! Nice pages you build. Just one thing...there's no 120 km speed limit in Sweden, 110 is the highest. /Roger
