Vienna is situated on the eastern foot of the Alps. It is Austria's capital and with its 1.6 Million inhabitants it houses approximately one fifth of the country's population. It is a multi diverse city, with many ethnic groups residing there.
Vienna, the city of music was the home of famous composers: Strauss, Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn. It offers a wealth of historic places to visit.
I was here for a meeting of meteorology students. Nevertheless, I had a little time to capture some impressions of this beautiful city.

Delighted to see you mention Hundertwasser's splendid 'Fernwärme', Christian...and what an extraordinary story about the 'Rossauer' architect. Poor chap! Vienna is certainly a beautiful city and architecturally fascinating.
