Welcome to ULM

by Leipzig - last update: Mar 15, 2003

Ulm, founded in 9th century, is situated on the banks of the river Danube. It is divided into Ulm and Neu-Ulm by the boundary between the Federal States of Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria. Ulm's cathedral owns world's highest church spire and the town was also the birthplace of Albert Einstein. Ulm was the scene of a battle in 1805 in which Napoleon defeated the Austrians. Today Ulm has about 115,000 inhabitants and is an important university and industrial town.

Great page. I DID climb the steps in the Munster church, my knees quivered by the time I got down.

It's a shame I missed visiting the Ulm Munster when I was in Baden-Wurttemberg, it looks spectacular!
