Warnemünde Travel Guide: 32 reviews and 108 photos

The seaside resort Warnemuende is located 10 km (6 mi) north of Rostock. It was an old fishermen village before Warnemuende was bought by Rostock's city council in 1323, because of its' access to the Baltic Sea. During the 1930's, Warnemuende became the site of the defence industry and of the "Warnow-Werft" – shipyard. Today, Warnemuende is a popular destination for tourists because of its white sandy beaches and the beautiful buildings, especially the lighthouse and the “Teepott", with its unusual roof.
