    Things To Do: Merseburg
  • Tip Rating:
  • Situated on the banks of the river Saale, with architectural witnesses of a magnificent past, the small town, with its 41,000 inhabitants, is a blend of the old and the new, where you can find older buildings side by side with modern commercial buildings and where you can find room for relaxion and entertainment as well. The metropolises of Halle and Leipzig are only a stone's throw away.
Merseburg is also the gateway to the Saale/Unstrut Valley, a region with a charm of its own. Castles and palaces loom high above the rivers, overlooking a beautiful landscape with rolling hills and vieyards on the slopes of the valley.
