Favorite Thing: Saxony-Anhalt is the German state with the most UNESCO-world heritages.
Fondest Memory: I love the beautiful old towns and visit them as often as I can. My favorite town is Quedlinburg - its entire centre consists of half-timbered houses and is also an UNESCO-world heritage.

Favorite Thing: Saxony-Anhalt is the youngest German state. Historically the region was a part of the duchy of Saxony until the 12th century, when it split into several territories. Prussia dominated the region after the 17th century. In 1947 the state of Anhalt, the Prussian province of Saxony and several small territories of the state of Brunswick were united to the state of Saxony-Anhalt. In 1952 it had been subdivided in several districts before the districts of Magdeburg und Halle became united in 1990 as today’s state of Saxony-Anhalt.
