First of all thanks to VT-Member tini58de who gave me the hint to visit this little town in the north of Alsace. This little place still has the charm of a 17th century village and has a very interesting history. It was birthplace of the sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi who made the Statue of Liberty of New York City and was home of Louis XV's wife Marie.

Wissembourg is a beautiful place. And I ate fantastic Flammkuchen there! ;-)
Quite an interesting little spot hidden away in France! The history of those buildings over the centuries is amazing! Great photos too.
very interesting page. I liked Colmar a lot! This place looks nice too, I had never heard of it.
Wissembourg is a great introducion for the delights that lie further in the Aslatian hillsides. A little history and nice photos demonstrate all of this.
Nice job. You captured the local architecture well.
never knows about small towns what historical events happened here and cause of it they seem so magical.
Wonderful page, Christian - Wissembourg is always a nice place to visit!!
