Düsseldorf is situated in the west of Germany and is the capital of the Federal State of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) with 560,000 inhabitants. There are numerous museums, historical, architectural and picturesque houses as well as the Rhine Promenade and of course, the Rhine River. Main attractions are the city's Altstadt, the old quarter of the city with home-brew taverns, pubs and bars, the Königsallee (known as Kö), a part of the city with shopping arcades around a beautiful boulevard and of course the TV-Tower. The nickname of Düsseldorf is: "Die längste Theke der Welt" (world's longest bar).
