See my "North America" page for the bulk of my Montana stuff. I'll add more fear and loathing/fun and living in Montana info and pics here. I think i said it before, if you haven't seen Montana you haven't seen the best the US of A has to offer (opinion based on extensive travel and living in several places in the American West). Of course, if you're looking for cool night clubs, the swinging "big city" life, et cetera...this is probably the wrong state for you. If you're thinking of moving to a great state of asthetic conciousness and raw cultural intrique...here it is. There are sacrifices...it is hard to earn a living here. That is why there are dozens of cities in America that have a greater population than the entire (large) state of Montana. The photograph above is the Two Medicine river about 30 miles east of Glacier Park. This is the site (near the river flats) where Lewis, of Lewis and Clark fame, met 8 Blackfeet...the only instance in their long exploration where they battled and killed American Indians. They killed 2 Blackfeet, burned their extra gear, got on their horses and didn't stop riding for a day. They were driven by fear...it was known to them that the Blackfeet were some tough hombres...in fact, Lewis and his 3 man sub-expedition party that split from the main group near present day Missoula, were a bit on edge about coming to this part of the country (Blackfeet country) at all.
