Here you can enjoy more than 10 kms of wonderful beaches in the Pacific Ocean. Also lots of places with great nightlife and delicious seafood.
Picture taken on a windy and cold day in January 2001, my first time here after a pause of about 20 years. I came several times as a kid on my way to Culiacán, where we usually spent Christmas. Oh, things look very different when you are a young boy.
Here the funniest thing is to get pneumonia, haahaa. That is, a special class of local buses are called "pulmonía", which means pneumonia (lung disease). Strange name, huh? Don't ask me why, it's a mistery for me too.

Have you ever heard of El Tajéhue, nickname of General Juan Camberos, who fought against the French invaders of Mazatlán in the 1860's? He is my ancestor and he lived around this area. I am doing a genealogical research, if you are a local and know more about him please email me!
