Evening in St. Mark Square and other Venice, Italy General Tips

Fondest Memory: My favorite memory is an evening at Piazza S. Marco, in front of the Cathedral. It would be quite dark already if not for the lamplights... So I take my place at an open-air table at one of the restaurants and there are small orchestras playing music... A truly enchanting evening that was!

Favorite Thing: The interesting thing is, though I spent little time in Venice, I have managed to catch pretty much any kind of weather. A spot of rain, sunny and hot days, and… some mist.

I could not expect to like it that much, I do not normally enjoy misty weather - except when I am looking at just how queer nature might look in such time. But… In Venice it was just fabulous. The city had more of a fairy-tale like appearance, if I could say so. The less perfect things (i.e., shabby state of many buildings, litter and so on) were less visible because of the mist itself and the fact that the same mist dimmed streets lights. Yes, it was just like the old city shook off all the imperfections and became as glorious as it once was, no doubt.

One note: Do not fall off a bridge - you will not see just as well as on a bright sunny day!
