I'm not going to mention any shops in particular, however shops are open from Monday - Saturday from 9:00am - 1:00pm then open again from 4:00pm - 7:00pm everywhere in Malta. Groceries and supermarkets are generally open all day long, some with late night shopping on one particular day. Best well-stocked supermarkets are: Tower Supermarket in High Street, Sliema and Smart Supermarket, Birkirkara. If you're in desperate need for clothes, shoes, toys, luggages etc late at night, then fear not, we have one complex called Bay street Complex in St. George's Road St. Julian's which are open from 10:00am till 10:00pm all day from Monday to Sunday! There are also loads of fabulous restaurants to choose from, huge great play area for the kids, and always some sort of entertainment going on! http://www.baystreet.com.mt/ check it out!

In this particular store, first you may watch the glass blowers at work as shown in the pic, then you may purchase some of the most beautiful glass in Malta, which make great souvenirs/gifts! Walk around the crafts village and you will find all sorts of Maltese crafts, such as pottery, filigree, Maltese wool jumpers, lace and so on... Definately the best place for Maltese crafts and souvenirs
