Balgoevgrad is a beautiful town in the Rila Mountain region of Bulgaria. The people tere are known to have a special pride about the town. In the mid 70-ties the town was small and provincial, but later a new infrastructure has been developed. The economical structure of the town is wide and has several industries such as electronics, textile, food and cigarettes production, wood industries and related. The town has three universities, including the first American University in the region.
The Balgoevgrad is situated near the river Struma and near the samller river, coming from the mountains, named Bistritza.
The important highway which links the Bulgarian capital Sofia with Greece is very near the Balgoevgrad.
The hospitality industry is well developed, but the people working there stil have little skills toward a customer satisfaction, the attitude of the good customer service,that you can see in the countries with well established tradition in the travel and hospitality industry.
Very close to Blagoevgrad is the authentic and famous Rila Monastery, which is a historic and religious landmark for the area.
