Ballater

Ballater is a quaint town along the Royal Deeside. It supplies Balmoral so shops are able to display royal insignia.

The River Dee runs east towards Aberdeen from the mountains about 1/2 way across Scotland. The area is called Royal Deeside because nearby, in 1852, Balmoral Castle was built by Prince Albert (hubby of Queen Victoria). The castle is still occupied in the summer by the Royal family.
