Southwestern Trip: Sunset on the way to Vernal

Visited Utah for the first time last year on my "Western Adventure" trip in August, and then again this year in July on my "Southwestern" trip. Utah has a variety of landscape...from mountains...to deserts...to the Great Salt Lake. I particularly liked seeing the Bonneville Salt Flats, walking out on a lake of salt; the area near Logan, Utah; Arches National Park near Moab; and the Uinta Mountains in the northeastern part of the state.

The above photo was taken Thursday evening, July 12, 2002, on my way to Vernal, Utah...where I spent the night. The sunset was glorious!

"Southwestern Vacation"

Friday ~ July 12, 2002

After spending a couple of hours sightseeing at Arches NP, Thursday, July 11, 2002....headed towards Vernal, Utah, where I spent the night. Slept in a little on Friday morning, and then made my way north towards Pinedale, Wyoming. Enjoyed the drive up on Rt. 191, heading north of Vernal. Stopped to see some of the wonderful scenery along the way...and couldn't resist taking a photo of Utah wildflowers! LOL

This photo I took August 2001, on my "Western Adventure" trip. It's of the Bonneville Salt Flats. This is a lake of salt...you can actually walk out on it, which I did. Pretty nifty!
