It's very difficult to go to Arles and to not breathe the Van Gogh's air. In this region Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) spent the two last years of his life, painting masterpieces that made the story of the art.
This is the Langlois's Bridge, quite far from the centre of the city, with a plate that remembers us his painting of the march 1888.
Arles is quite famous also for its buildings in romanic and provencal style, like the Eglise-St-Trophime or the Arena...
It is crossed by the Rhone and here it starts the region of the Camargue, a naturalistic regional park really amazing.
I made a travelogue with paintings of Van Gogh that portray the view of Arles I've seen. I hope you like it, Van Gogh is one of my favourite painters.
- Pros:Climate good, beautiful place, art and culture
- Cons:Most of Van Gogh's paintings are not here
- In a nutshell:To revive the Van Gogh experience!

Beautiful page on Arles, how great that you've used Van Gogh's paintings to illustrate the city! (Evokes more happy memories of a city I love, thanks again) cat
