A „normal“, romantic, emotional and cool trip to Prague 1996
Huh, how to start a report about a trip that almost will be one of the last good memories of 13 years at school?
Maybe the romantic way: During our trip by the famous Orientexpress we´ve passed sun flooded valleys, meadows covered with dew, cities in fog, forrests with trees looking like wavering giants and arrived in Prague.
Or better emotional: This should be the last trip where we´ll see us, talking, laughing and crying together, having arguments and love each other, having dinner together or sharing the shower in the bathroom and … …
Or everything pretty relaxed and cool: Finally the last class trip, no childish stuff anymore like toothpaste on the doorhandle, no being unfaithful and no crazy drinking bout´s anymore. Well, on that last trip everything should be different. Should be…
But I think I´ll just stay with the normal way of writing. “Normal” like that trip with Mrs. Tzschach and Mrs. Fergin was.
05:15 a.m. – “S-Bahn” station, let´s start the trip into the dark. How tolerant our teachers would be? What´s the price for beer? What does our hotel look like? We were thinking about all that and a lot more while sitting between motionless people struggeling hard on their way to work on Monday morning.
06:42 a.m. Berlin – departure of the EC 171 to Prague. The reservation cards were for some people more a reason to cry than laugh and some went straight to the smoking compartment. Others tried to find a comfortable seat and enjoyed chocolate-(Berentzen)-milk ;-)) Well, as long as the teachers would believe it´s milk. And the rest of our group had the great pleasure *lol* to listen to the wisdom´s of our teachers.
08:42 a.m. Dresden – many strange speaking people get in the train and soon we´ve had a nice mix of “icke”, “nö”, “gell” and “Dyyyynamohhhh” ;-))
11:27 a.m. – Prague – Holesovice, finally we´ve arrived. First way – exchange office and then with a regular bus and a crazy driver to the Hotel LUNA, 13 floors. Okay, rooms inspected but now -> Wenceslas Square. Getting the first impressions of Prague and buying everything to let the first day properly end ;-))
Tuesday 09:00 a.m. – sightseeing tour through Prague – old part of the town, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square and a lot more and after 6 hours, okay, maybe it were just 2 *g* (but believe me, my feet told me it were 6 hours of walking) we finally got some free time to discover Prague alone. After that tiring day most of us didn´t feel like going to any clubs in the evening, but yes, there were some very tenacious people who went to a Jazz club.
Huh, I could write so much about our days there … about the girls and their smashed door, well, it was the glass pane of our room door (oh my, what a big trouble with the hotel staff), the visit in the National Gallery, the Wenceslas Monument, club´s (yes, a day later we were fit ;-), Mozart museum, ... |
