| Sunset over the domes.... |
It was a weekend runaway....
By somewhat unexplainable wonder it was a beautiful sunny day on a weekend in the mid of gloomy Moscow autumn. Without hesitating a minute we decided to make use of the opportunity and kicked off to Ryazan'. But what a surprise we had!!! It was snowing a bit a couple of days before that weekend, but everything melted in Moscow, but to our amazement driving South outside Moscow the layer of snow became thicker and thicker.... and finally driving in to Ryazan' (which is 200km closer to the South than Moscow), we drove into real winter with about 6 degrees temperature difference in comparison to Moscow..... weird! Don't ask me why :))))
There are not a lot of things to see in Ryazan' itself but those are worth you attention. First and foremost is the Kremlin, which is really beautiful and renovated to a certain degree, then historical center of the town which is rather small and walkable by feet, the latter is full of different architectural pearls (such as old wooden houses, for example). |

rogan Thu Jan 16, 2003 07:57 UTC I visited Poschupovo with my family, my friends from Nokolskoe and the President of the Regional Council. All the men took a dip in the sacred spring. Don't know if it did any good as far as 'sins'are concerned. But the water was cold and refreshing. | heplion Tue Jan 14, 2003 10:26 UTC Good stuff on this page and some great writing! | irisbe Wed Jan 8, 2003 11:52 UTC hey Marianna, you write lovely :-) I love this kind of trips to unknown and small area's, it doesn't have to be the big cities only!
