I CAN'T BOAST OF RATHER REGULAR VISITS TO THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY, I GO THERE LIKE ONCE IN HALF YEAR WHICH IS NOT THAT OFTEN, BUT EVERY TIME I FIND SOMETHING NEW AND THIS PROCESS INSPIRES TO REPEAT MY VISITS AGAIN AND AGAIN.... SO ALL THE TIPS AND PICTURES YOU CAN SEE ARE OF MY DIFFERENT VISITS BUT YOU CAN SEE THE CHANGE OF SEASONS THOUGH :))
My 1st visit to St. Pete was in far away 1989 and was limited to 1,5 days. The 2nd, 3rd, etc. time I got in touch with this marvelous city happend 12 years later. So pictures presented were taken in the previous and current centuries :)))
St. Pete is somewhat diffrent from Moscow and in many aspects: people, architecture, age... It's 500 years younger than Moscow, it was planned and built like a standard European city which can be notalby seen observing houses' pediments... Once I was shown a photogragh and was asked to guess where it had been taken, I looked at it for some time and said: It seems to be Paris.... or .... maybe Vienna, but most likely Paris... But it was St. Petersburg. As a Moskovite I am charmed by St. Pete, by the things which Moscow lacks, one the one hand the difference might be subtle, but on the other it's grand... |
