Rothenburg is surely 1 of Germany's most visited towns. Located in northwestern Bavaria in a region known as "Franconia", it is the most beautiful perhaps of a string of villages located along the so-called "Romantic Road". The entire village is surrounded by its medieval city wall, and you can easily cover the whole town on foot, though you do have to go up and downhill sometimes on cobblestone. Everything about the village is magical: the streets, the houses, the wall, the shops, and the guesthouses and places to stay. I think every visitor to Germany should come here at least once.
