There is no doubt, Ruedesheim is touristy. But that's not a reason to skip it! There's nowhere else along the Rhine River with such a fun and lively atmosphere as the village's main street called the Drosselgasse. There are about 10 restaurants along this narrow street, most with live music and lots of dancing. You can have a GREAT meal in this town and have fun while you're eating it! There's also an interesting museum of self playing mechanical musical instruments, a torture museum, a chairlift up to the Niederwald monument, and a famous Christms market.
I would recommend coming here!
- Pros:Great food and experiences
- Cons:Crowded and touristy
- In a nutshell:Worth a stop for dinner at the least!

I love Rudesheim. Have been twice. Am going to Germany next week. It will be the first time for my husband & I'm very excited to show him Rudesheim.
10 of us from our river cruise went to dinner there and all agreed it was the best meal we had ashore. Very highly recommended. Cordon Bleu, Venison, Schnitzel, Schwein-Haxe. Good wines. All great. Good service. Not on the touristy DrosselStrasse
I agree, people should go to Drosselgasse and have a look around & some will like it there, some not. Ruedesheim has a lot of interesting places, great architecture and great wine & coffee !
well done -- lucky your job takes you here
Bei Hannelore is an incredible place to eat. Good tip! You are very right! Congratulations.
