Wade's Strasbourg page

Strasbourg is 1 of my all-time favorite places in Europe. It has an incredible old town which has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site and is the highlight of the city. The center is surrounded by the Ile River, and in the middle of the center is the incredible Cathedral of Notre Dame. The oldest district is called "La petite France", and is perhaps the most picturesque part of the city. When visiting Strasbourg, make sure to get out of the old town and see other parts of the city, like "Place de la Republique", Avenue de la Paix, the Orangerie Park, the European Parliament...and much much more. And when you finish with Strasbourg, you can drive the so-called "Alsatian Wine Road" between Strasbourg and Colmar---it is a must, just beautiful.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Great old town, beautiful shops, great food, wonderful place!
  • Cons:Pickpockets in and around the cathedral.
  • In a nutshell:Don't miss this city in France!
