I figured its a rare possibility i will be going to Ahemdabad.....so you'll find my Manali page here.
Ofcourse, Manali is the diverse - est tourisy destination I have ever been to....Its got something for almost everyone.
The town has been very convienently divided into sections suited for individual travel taste.
1. On the mall you will find the typical Indian tourist. Families with a couple of (or more) kids haveing a good time at the local dhabas & shopping at stalls selling shawls & other wollens. Along with the families you will see the going to be families (!!) - the Honeymooners!!! Lots n lots of them go to Manali !!!
2. The Hadimba/ Circuit House area houses more of the "have been to Manali earlier" Indian traveller. This is most probably his 2nd trip to the town so he has decided to stay away from the crowd & do what he is there to do - HOLIDAY!!
3. Old Manali is a different place altogether....its sad but a normal Indian tourist is definitely going to feel unwelcome here. There are hardly any Indian tourists staying here. You do get to see a whole lot of foreigners staying on a budget, though!!
