Paradise Found

Boracay is a small island off the northwestern tip of the larger Panay Island. About 400 km south of Manila, Boracay is reached via a short boat ride from Caticlan Town in Aklan Province. Small planes fly direct from Manila to Caticlan. If you want the comfort of at least a Boeing 737, you'll have to fly to Kalibo, which is about an hour and a half bus ride away from Caticlan. Boracay has nightlife, great food, water and land based sports, gorgeous people, and the most beautiful beach and sunsets I've ever seen!

Hi, I'm from the Pihl but living in New Zealand now. I haven't been home for 10yrs. My husband and I are looking for a relaxing place to go but doesn't cost too much. Is Boracay great for the kids and not too touristee? Appreciate your advise. Cita

I totally agree. Jonah's shakes are the best!

The Captain of the Red Pirates boat is a nice guy, and won't overcharge people, unlike some other boatmen on the beach. There's really no need to haggle the price - its already cheap! Bear in mind he has to share the money with his skipper too.
