<font size=+1>We had a very swift trip through Chad, it didn't hold a lot of pulling power for those of us on the truck and our introduction to the place was not good. A big yellow truck stands out like dogs proverbials and it attracted a fair amount of unwanted attention. We repeatedly had stones thrown at us and some fine displays of "finger across throat" actions. We spent a day in N'djamena wandering around while we waited for some of the wandering passengers that had left the truck in Lagos. So bad was it here that instead of the normal two truck guards we had 4 to 6 people guarding at all times. A couple of the people on guard duty were even threatened by a knife weilding youth.
I did have one good experience, having set out to locate the post office a good half hour walk frm the truck, Ben, Nigel and I finally located it all locked up. On closer inspection we found the parcel office at the rear of the building open and we were escorted in, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Finding us packing and taping up Ben's parcel for the UK they were the complete opposite of the other people we had encountered in Chad.
