LEH, in the middle of mountains!

by zumodemango - last update: Nov 7, 2002

Leh is in the middle of the high Tibetan meseta, close to the river Indo. The high there is more than 3500!!! Looking at its architecture it seems a city of clearly buddish inspiration. However, when you start walking by its streets, you'll see that the comerce is in the hands of the muslims cachemirs.(40% of the population)

When finally you arrive to Leh, you want to die! The only thing to do is drink water and go to the bathroom(for at least one morning, resting 1 day or even 2)
Then, ready to feel the infinite charm of Leh, the door is open!!!!
