My home town, Vaasa

by jarto - last update: Sep 11, 2002

Vaasa is a little city on the west coast of Finland. Vaasa was founded in 1606 and has a population of about 57000 people. About 72% of the people are Finnish-speaking and 27% Swedish-speaking. You'll hear a lot of Swedish as the county around Vaasa (Korsholm) is the biggest county in Finland with Swedish-speaking majority.

There's a saying that the kids of a shoemaker have the worst shoes. Unfortunately that shows in my pictures. I'll try to add some later, though.
