Greetings from IASI!

Dear world traveller,

Iasi is a wonderful city to visit! It is placed on 7 hills exactly as Rome (Italy). It has a history which began more than 600 years ago. IASI is a cultural town and for many years it was considered to be the capital of our region - Moldavia. I am proud of my town and I'd like to introduce it to you (if you are curious, of course).

If you are thinking to visit Iasi maybe you will choose a date around 14th October. Each year we celebrate here "The Feasts of IASI" during 3 or 4 days. It is a very special period of time because in the Orthodox calendar on 14th October it is Saint Parascheva's Day. This Saint is considered to be protective for the whole Moldavia region... not only for my city. Thousands of pilgrims are coming here on this occasion to pray. In the end of the third day we have fireworks too...
