It is sensuous, yet at times overdone with the over killing yellow gold power. Having been there, it just draws you to want to know more of the great empire that span over 200 years which ended by the brutal murder by the Bolshevik

Gypsies from the Roma community pose big social problem in St Petersburg. Within the same one day, we saw scores of them aggressively attacking tourist shamelessly. This picture was taken by a Belgium pjotographer, and it appeared on the same day evening papers when we were harrassed by the same gypsies crowd. They are easily spotted along the popular Newsky Pkt, especially in front of Kazan Cathderal. Mind you, the locals just watch as it is a common occurence when tourist are being mobbed by them. Also to caution, large men in black coats, hovering around the Newsky Pkt junction to the large book shop on route to the Spilled Blood Church, these men will corner you and rob you given any opportunity.

During the months of May and June, St Petersburg celebrates the white nights season...during which it is bright as day even at 11 pm!!! It is a good chance to do a night tour, to see the illuminations of the buildings, the raising of the bridge.
