Gardens, Fountains, Zoos, and what else.....

I had a short holiday in Vienna...only 4 days - so there was not much time to do it all. I only took a walk to the palace ground, and the park, very very early in the morning.

I set off foot around 6:45 in the morning, walking in the cool summer weather. I thought I would be the only freak on the street from our hotel at thge renaissance...the locals call it the pink hotel...becos it is pink in colour. I could have taken the train to get to the palace park but chose to walk. It took me a mere 12 minutes to reach there...a very enjoyable walk.

Fortunately I had a map of the gardens - otherwise I would be lost by its vastness.

On the weekends the park is open early - there were lots of 'healthy people' some even jogging without their shirts on....and there were lots of couples also walking briskly.

The Viennese are so fortunate to have such a wonderful place to keep healthy and admire their beautiful nature and also the glorious palace. But for myself, I was so unfortunate that I could not enter to see the grand palace. I was told there was a grand opera performance, the Aida during the evening, with the palace background as the prop!!!

I just had a few hours in Vienna last summer, but I went to Schönbrunn. It is a nice place (but a little too much people). Great photos!
