In a cosy athmosphere you could delight your eyes within this rustic setting and your palate with the tasteful meal and wine.
You can "supervise" the meticulious preparation of you meat and watch the flambée show before enjoying your meal.

Restaurant Spycher is member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs : so no surprise permitted about the excellent quality of service and meal.

The owner is also an excellent alpenhorn player .

Restaurant Name: Restaurant Rothorn

This restaurant is located on the summit of the Rothorn (3'100m or 10'170 feet above sea level). The panoramic terrace give you a great view on the moutnains. The cuisine is inventive and delicious. The prices are honest for a high altitude restaurant, the special of the day is CHF 16.- and you get enoug food to feed you during your skiing day.

Built in the chalet style, the restaurant can accommodate 152 guests inside and a further 200 on the terrace.

Winter : from December to the end of April.
Summer : from July to the end of October.

Directions: It takes around 25 minutes to reach the restaurant from Zermatt using the Sunnegga Express, followed by the Blauherd cable car with its small cabins, and finally the main Rothorn cable car.

Restaurant Name: Hotel Restaurant Kulm Gornergrat

The terrace, situated at 3'000m/10'000 feet above sea level, offers a unique view of the Monte Rosa, Liskamm, Castor&Pllux, Breithorn and of course Matterhorn. The self-service restaurant offers good, reasonably-priced meals.

On the photo you could see two domes. They provided a vantage point from which scientists could look out into space using infrared and radio telescopes. The clean air and optimum light conditions at this location allow an exceptional view of the galaxies.

The hotel is open all year round except November; the restaurant is open all year round.

Restaurant Name: Trockener Steg restaurant

This restaurant is situated at an altitude of 2'939m /9'640 feet close to the Matterhorn. The building stands at the foot of the Theodul Glacier, which lies between the Matterhorn and the Klein Matterhorn.

The self-service restaurant has seating for 400 guests inside and a further 400 on the sun-terrace.

My favorite experience is on 2nd floor where you could find the pizzeria Cervino. Head to the terrace to enjoy delicious pizza made thanks a wood fire oven. By the my fav. piz' is the Biagio with Tomato sauce, mozzarella, oregano, fresh tomatos, rocket, parmesan, parma ham or try a copious pasta meal... Enjoy your meal and the view!

Directions: You can reach Zum See on foot from Zermatt in about 30 minutes. If you prefer to take the cable car to Furi it will be a short downhill walk of about 10 minutes. The ski trail and the hiking trail will guide you to the restaurant.

This place is cosy and great for meat lover.

Restaurant Name: Rifugio Guide del Cervino

This high altitude restaurant is located on the Plateau Rosa close to the Theodul pass and Testa Grigia at 3'480m just at the Italian and Swiss border.

At the first floor you will find a self service bar, you must order first to the cashier and pay your meal before to get served. Price is proportionnal to the altitude I mean high... Do not pay in CHF or you will have the bad surprise to have a quite unfavorable exchange rate. I would advise only to have a quick snack over there to enjoy the viewThe view from the terrace. An ground floor you will find a restaurant for more consitent meal on a panoramic terrace well protected from wind by a window fence.

At 3030 meters absl you will find this nice little hütte on the Klein Matterhorn skiing area close to the Trockener Steg station. There you will be reward by a magnificient panorama on the Monte Rosa mountains chain and glaciers. Walisser specialities will also feed you enough to enjoy your skiing or hiking day till late...
