Good value tip :
If you're staying for a while in Switzerland, I advice you to buy the Half Fare Card for CHF 150.- to get half price on all standard fares (valid one year). Swiss Travel System offers for tourists also this card for CHF 99.- but valid only one month. Swiss Pass and Swiss Flexi Pass offer unlimited travels for limited duration + 50% discount on most mountain-top trains and cable cars, free admission to most museums in Switzerland , have a look on the website to make your best choice.
For your one day trip think also for a Day Card for CHF 56.- in 2nd class or CHF 90.- in 1st class (you must have the Half Fare Card).
If you're between 16-25 years old, I advice you to buy the Voie/Gleis/Track 7 Card for CHF 99.- (you must have the Half Fare Card). With it you can travel free in all Switzerland CFF trains after 7pm.
If you have chidren, choose the Junior Card. With this card, your child (6-16 y. o.)can enjoy free train travel during one year if accompanied by at least one parent. For the first and the second child, the charge for the Junior Card is CHF 20.– per child and year. From the 3rd child, the Junior Card is free.
NB: Children up to 6 years old travel free of charge on the train, bus, tram and post bus!

A panoramic trip through the Alps in the heart of Switzerland on the famous Swiss mountain railways from Zermatt to St.Moritz and vice versa.

A connection which has existed for almost a century offers the amateurs of strong sensations may possibilities
Crossing sometimes vertiginous but always somptuous pieces of scenery, the Mont-Blanc Express line climbs the slope defiently and after 2480 meters at 200 ‰, it reaches Salvan, the village where Marconi's tests on wireless telegraph were crowned with success.
Some minutes later, the train arrives in Les Marécottes, more particularly known for its alpine zoo where bears, wolves, greyhounds and other wild species live together in a 35'000 m2 space.
After 45 minutes you will reach Le Châtelard VS, the steepest funicular in the world (over 87%) is awaiting the most intrepid travellers. In less than 12 minutes, it leads them from 1'357 to1'821 meters of altitude. Then a little panoramic train takes them to the foot of the dam of Emosson, hugging breathtaking chasms.
Once on the other side of the frontierline, the composition heads to Chamonix (after a journey of only 1h25), a high place for worldwide mountaineering. The hiking possibilities are numerous. Were it the ice sea, or the Montenvers or the Aiguille du Midi railway lines.
