This small, high and mountain Kingdom in the middle of South Africa, has a lot to offer to visitors. Not only for trekking in the Maluti and Drankensberg mountain peaks, but also to admire its waterfalls, dinosaur footprints, bushman paintings, explore nature with pony-trekking… But one of the best things in Lesotho is people: Friendly Basotho people that populate these highlands. |
| | Lesotho is not a developed country, but due to this, it has a lot of charm. You can feel real African essence. I spent there three days and only met one white man, something you are not used at all in Europe. But everybody was so friendly, helpful, talkative… I have beautiful memories of those children dressed in old tore clothes I met in Malealea Lodge (see Accommodations), those women making tapestry “in the old way”, that old man I met in Maseru, and those hundreds of children that wave me up and smiled while driving throughout the country… |
