Outside Paris, on the south-east side, you can find a huge palace which once belonged to Louis XIV. The Sun King spend his life giving people orders to build the residence, the gardens and the little gardenkastle (partly paid by the treasury). The splendour of the building and its interior reflects the good and wealthy past times. More than 20.000 used to work for the king. On top of that: there were 35.000 people working on the building to finish it. There are gaudy rooms, a mirror room, private chambers of Louis himself and neat gardens (100 hectare) to look at. Take your time and a tour to really be able to imagine the life in those days.
