Walk along the channels

Livorno with its 161.000 inhabitants is the second largest town in Tuscany - and the biggest port.

The old part of the town is veined with channels, which is a really charming trait of the town.

When arriving in Livorno you feel at once the maritime character of the town, which is dominated of it's great harbour and all the activity which is connected with an important port.

The lack of tourists is as refreshing as is the air of the sea - after visiting the inner parts of Tuscany - and I got a special feeling for Livorno as something real and genuine.
