perché 'n te se vede
e chi 'n t'ha mai visto
che se' 'n paradiso pol crede.
Perch'e 'e tutto buio el Borghetto
che 'mporta si è stretto nessuno 'l saprà.
Le fratte pu dì che son fiori,
la rocca a colori,
la piazza 'n tesor.

Se vieni a Monterchi
te senti di: "che cerchi?"
mentre dai muri 'n citto
te bocia: "che vu?"
Dorme el Traveto el Mercatele e'l Burghettino;
se chedi dal graneio giogni subbito da Angino.

Monterchi ier l'altro te viddi
fè rivoluzione, da fiacco cuniglio te viddi
mutatte 'n leone, bociando dicean le tu' donne
"mo pur le Madonne ci voglion rubbè!"

Ma quelli che l'evino stacca
l'hen subbito artacca e....via de scollè!...

Sta attenti Angino
agniscondi quella chieve.
Si arvien quei musi neri
falli secchi cur 'na treve."
