Shanghai - changing every day Finally I had the opportunity to visit Shanghai again after 14 years. In 1991 I did ot see any highrise buildings on the other bank of Huangpu River, as there have not been any at that time.Nanjing Lu was a narrow and crowded street with cars. Suzhou Creek was smelling badly most of the time.
I always longed to come back and see the impressive changes, that had taken place in the last 14 years. So, when I now flew to Chongqing via Shanghai I was glad to have about 5 hours between planes, which I could use for a short sighseeing trip to the city center.
In my Shanghai page on VT I'll leave my old tips and pics from the 1991 trip unchanged. I am adding pics and and tips from my 2005-trip. |
