The most eastern part of the Great Wall

Shanhaiguan is a wonderful old city. The Great Wall is part of the still existing citywall.

On this photo you can see the Great Wall ending in the Chinese Sea. The buildings are a temple for the Seagodess.

Beach Off The Beaten Path (2)

Shanhaiguan has some nice beaches, which are still mainly used for the fisher boats. The sand is white and very nice.... more travel advice

actually your picture is of a temple a few hundred metres down the coast from the Wall itself.

If I'm lucky enough to get back to China one day I would really like to visit this part of the Great Wall. What an amazing structure.

Haha, believe or not, once when I watched programm on the Great Wall on Travel Channel I wanted to see a place when it reached the sea but they didn't show it. Luckily we have nepalgoods :-)
