Never go to Madagaskar in February! It was raining most of the time, when I was there in February 1998. And rain in Madagaskar is nothing like you have at home. It is just water pouring from above. Everything gets wet. An your clothes don't get dry in weeks.
But anyway people are so nice, that I somtimes just forgot about the rain. They have so big smiles, it just warms your heart.
By the way: this animal is a Katta, typical type of primate living in Madagaskar.
I only spent one week in Madagascar. The photos of animals are mainly made in the Zoo of Tana, which is very nice.
The results of staying 4 days in Tana, the capital, and two days in Ampefi, a small town about 150 km away from Tana, you can see in my travelogues.
I have to apologize to everybody: my travelogue about Madagaskar is in German only. |

I'm glad that I'm not going during the raining season | toonsarah Wed May 14, 2008 20:24 UTC I've always wanted to go to Madagascar but I'll take care now not to go in February! Lovely photos in particular, and I enjoyed testing my German in your travelogue - well I understood just a little ;)) | Bwana_Brown Sun Feb 3, 2008 16:59 UTC Great tips on a place one does not hear much about! Madagascar has always been an exotic destination wish for me but my old high-school French is just barely passable as well!! |
