Gro? Breesen = Greater Breesen

Well, der German word "gross" means "big". But this tiny village is verything but not "big". This area has been settled from early stone age. In 7th century a.d the Slawik people founded a village here. In the later middleages the people became Christians. Not much can be said about the history. Now Gro? Bressen is a village with a few farm houses and an estate, which is now a smal hotel.

Haha, funny those mole hills! Just the other day I've seen a lot of them too.

Beautiful silent place and nice page, Ulrike! Yes, I've certainly recognise traces which Slawik people left in this area... Thanks for sharing!

Truly a very off the beaten path destination, but it sure looks romantic!
