Somewhere between this red rocks is Petra, the hidden city of the Nabatean Kingdom. It is incredible but this stony valleys are full of monuments and relicts of this great city, which had been forgotten for many hundred years. The white houses are the homes of the beduins, who used to life in the holes and monuments of Petra. They have been relocated to new home, so that the ruins of Petra can be visited my tourists.
With my tips I want to give you some informations about Petra. In my travelogues you find more personal adventures told.
- In a nutshell:Petra, the fascinating capital of the Nabataeans!

Petra is indeed an amazing place! I got a bit too much sun although I was wearing a scarf and was quite sick afterwards.
Thankyou for sharing a magnificent page with us. Anne and I will be touring Egypt and Jordan in July and I am very excited about visiting Petra.
The mosaics in Petra must be as beautiful in Libya. Greetz
The very name of Petra makes me dream! Great adventure in your travelogues! Ou have certainly done the good choice, walking on top the mountain instead of staying in a souvenir shop! Fascinating page!
great page and your albums are wonderful - think your day was better than time in the shop. We so enjoyed Petra
Fantastic update, Ulrike!!! This wonderful page brings back loads of memories!!! Thanks a lot!!
excellent travelogues and brilliant pics ! Petra is on my list for a long time already, but I guess its a bad time to go there right now... :-((
Petra really is a must. I enjoyed looking at the colourful rock formations almost as much as at Petra itself.
Petra looks amazing; maybe one day we’ll visit...
One of my favorite nieces is named Petra, and this is the second Petra page I have visited in two days. Its ancient persona fascinates me.
