Wat Phra Keo - temple of the Jade Buddha - is the main temple of the Thai Buddhists. It is located near the Royal Palace and easy to reach by foot from Kao San Road. Every day many people visit the temple to worship or as tourists. Expect it to be full of people. Its golden statues and colorful pagodas are very impressive.

There are big market halls near the Chao Phraya River, where they sell vegetables and flowers. Here I saw many veggies, which I have never seen before. The atmosphere is noisy and smelly. I loved it!

Not far from the National Museum is the Temple Wat Mahatat. Foreign students are welcome to join the meditation there. It is an oasis of quitness in the middle of the noices of the city center.
